Local Bookshops

Waterstones

220-226 Chiswick High Rd, Chiswick, London W4 1PD, UK – 020 8995 3559

I love wandering around this store. I really like that Waterstones now have started to stock board games....... However I don't like that they over charge for what they are selling. Please continue to stock board games, but price them up at a more competitive price otherwise people will go elsewhere. (I did).

Perfect bookstore. They also have stationery and nice gifts for children 1 to 14.

Barnes Bookshop

60 Church Rd, Barnes, London SW13 0DQ, UK – 020 8741 0786

Lovely quiet space. A real Bookshop. Worth a visit when in Barnes and an independent trader aswell, which is becoming less and less evident in the village.

Excellent little bookshop. Great, knowledgeable service !

Nomad Books

781 Fulham Rd, Fulham, London SW6 5HA, UK – 020 7736 4000

Small, independent bookstore. I discovered a few gems here I wouldn’t have found elsewhere because of its smaller size and focused layout. Good-sized children’s book section in the back, along with a selection of greeting cards. (January 2018)

Five stars throughout. The choice of books on display is thoughtful and inviting a reaction. I went for the book club night which took Amor Towles title 'A gentleman in Moscow' as a theme for the evening. The event was really well organised and well run, what I really enjoyed was that there was an intelligence, curiosity and warmth present.  And everyone was free to say exactly what they thought.  The exchange of ideas was fresh and the flow was non-restricted.  No one was shy to say how they felt when they were reading the book and what they took out of it.  It was an excellent and delightful evening.  You may say that this was what the book clubs are for.  And you would be absolutely right!  Thank you, Cindy!
