Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Barnes

The Gate Hammersmith

51A, Queen Caroline St, Hammersmith, London W6 9QL, UK – 020 7833 0401

Updated as of May 2018 The food tastes amazing especially being entirely vegetarian it still hits the spot, the food they offer is seasonal so if you come at different times of the year you'll get a different menu which I think is a great idea. As well as the food being great the staff are friendly and polite. The service of the food could improve as it does take a little long to come out however you won't be disappointed with the food. It is located on the side of the Hammersmith Apollo, so you may need try and find it. I highly recommend The Gate. The service has definitely improved the food comes out a lot quicker but I do think that's also to do with the fact you have to vacate your table within 2 hours however. The food is still perfection.

The service on both occasions was warm and friendly. The food was interesting and delicious. There is variety in each of the courses and menus and something for palate. The location is very convenient to get to but beautifully hidden away from the hustle and bustle of Hammersmith. I will definitely go back.

Bill's Hammersmith Restaurant

10 Hammersmith Grove, Hammersmith, London W6 7AP, UK – 020 8741 1898

We were visiting London this weekend and we were located in Hammersmith. We looked for a nice restaurant where to have an authentic English breakfast and found Bill's. The place is really classy, nice decorated and the staff are very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend either the Bills breakfast or the Vegetarian breakfast, both are huge to start a touristic day without being hungry two hours later. The prices are not expensive at all considering the location, food quality and personnel. I would definitely go and have my breakfast everyday there.

Eaten here twice before seeing shows at the Apollo. Food is good, always busy when we've been and the staff aren't the most attentive or helpful but they are trying it's just that they don't seem to anticipate when they will be busy and get more staff. Plus they have crammed as many tables as possible into the restaurant which makes it hard for staff and customers to navigate. My friend was on crutches on my second visit and struggled to get to and from the table. The disabled toilet appeared to be doubling as a storage area for toilet rolls so I'm not sure a wheelchair user would be able to use it as easily as they might like to...

Wagamama

The Old Firestation, 244 Shepherds Bush Rd, Hammersmith, London W6 7NN, UK – 020 8741 9814

Very good for all your Japanese food needs. The chicken katsu curry and the ramens are particularly good. A nice ambience and polite waiters but with long benches and open spaces it's not that private.

Tasty ramen options for a chain, but the menu is a bit pricey for the quality of the food in my opinion.
